History

The 40th Annual Computer Camp is the legacy of the former Arizona Council of Black Engineers and Scientists organization. It was started by this group of dedicated engineers, architects, educators, and others to encourage, inform, and educate young people to learn about engineering and science. Over the years, hundreds of high school and some middle school students have spent the month of July learning critical thinking skills through learning a computer programming language.  Many of those students have gone on to pursue their education in engineering, computers, and the sciences.

Our Mission

KomputerKids Camp inspires and equips students in grades 3–12 with critical STEM skills through hands-on computer science education. Building on over 40 years of legacy, we prepare the next generation of innovators—especially those underrepresented in STEM—to think critically, solve problems, and pursue futures in technology and engineering.

Our Vision

To create a future where every student—regardless of background—has the skills, confidence, and opportunity to lead and innovate in STEM fields.
